About Us
Woodcut: Jesus Dies on the Cross by Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld (public domain)
What We Believe:
-
We believe that Jesus Christ is our personal Lord and Savior.
-
We believe that all of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired and true Word of God.
-
We believe we are saved by grace (as God’s free gift) through faith alone (and not by our works).
-
We believe Jesus was truly human and was the Son of God.
-
We believe that there is one God who is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
-
We believe in the three universal creeds of the Christian faith.
-
We believe that baptism and Holy Communion are sacred rites that God uses to offer us His grace.
Baptism:
We recognize and accept the validity of baptisms properly administered (using water in any quantity and/or mode, together with the Trinitarian invocation instituted by Christ in Matthew 28:19) in all Christian churches. If you have already received a proper Christian baptism, there is no need for you to be re-baptized. For additional questions or information, please contact our pastor who will be more than happy to discuss this further with you.
Communion Statement:
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper on the first, second, third and fifth Sundays. We are reminded by St. Paul to examine ourselves before we participate in this sacrament. We believe that Christ’s true body and blood are offered in these elements of bread and wine. All who share beliefs of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and who come with repentant hearts are invited to join us. Those who have never communed with us before are asked to speak to the pastor upon request and before the service. Grape juice is available in the center of the tray for those who prefer a non-alcoholic option. If you are not ready to participate in the Lords’ Supper with us, please feel free to come forward during communion, folding your arms, to indicate to the pastor your desire to receive a blessing instead.
